Summer sunshine ☼

There are 'beach people' and there are 'cold weather people' and the past few years are proof that we're definitely part of the first category.

This particular trip to Batangas was yeaaaaars ago. Funny story, we literally cut class to hit the beach. I distinctly remember the Multiply album of this trip was entitled 'Batangas Tuesdays'. Oh the lengths we go to, to escape from the monotony of everyday responsibilities ;)

The mandatory stopover to buy chips, drinks (and in my case, magazines and candy).
..And our ancient blue Civic acting up. Haha. Good times indeed!

Car trouble aside, we had a great time. I miss this specific beach/roadtrip group! Proud to say that this specific trip was the first of many more trips back to our 'secret' (haha okay it never really was a secret) Batangas getaway place.

This was another trip altogether, in fact this trip was the reason we stopped going to this particular Batangas beach resort. We made the smart choice to go on Holy Week, which was a total disaster considering just how many people had the exact same idea. We had a fun time though, as we always do.

If we didn't have to work full-time, I'd bet we'd always just be hanging out at some beach. Super looking forward to our upcoming trip! Just a few more months to go!

Yes, this is another Bangkok entry.

..and probably the last (as I'm getting a bit tired of talking about BKK haha) :)

Being all tourist-y at The Grand Palace. See my (icky) brown sarong? Had to pay and rent that long skirt to cover my leggings. Didn't know about the strict dress code :|

At the elephant park. I LOVE ELEPHANTS! One elephant actually grabbed the banana I was holding, which explains the surprised expression on my face :D

Tags trips over the years

One of our most favorite, nearest get-away places would have to be Tagaytay. Over the years we've been there countless of times, but majority of the times we've gone have been with family and with our friends from Days. Our nephew Gabby's first trip to Tagaytay was when he was probably just 2 or 3 months old, and poring over pictures of that trip (and another trip we made a few months later) made me realize just how small and chubby-cheeked he used to be! He's now a 2-year old, and getting taller and lankier by the day.

Tagaytay getaways usually mean - a weekend filled with lounging around, stuffing our faces, and taking dozens of pictures. Oh and it also gives us a chance to try restaurants around the area.

What makes every trip so memorable though is the company, the crazy antics, and the things we do to pass the time.

Because wouldn't you rather just be on the beach?

Punta Fuego trip with the barkada, a few years back. Missing the feel of the sun beating down on me, the sand on my toes, and the wind in my hair.

A Low-Key Hearts Day ♥

For all the years we've been together, unlike other couples, we don't super go out of our way to do something bongga or extra, extra special for Valentine's Day. Usually we just go on a date and eat out, like any other date day. I understand the whole "Everyday should be Valentine's Day" credo that other couples/people live by, although I don't passionately announce it as much as they do hihi. Personally, I think we just prioritize other holidays more - Christmas, our birthdays and our anniversary. Those are the times we pull out all the stops, and spend weeks (even months) planning, and try extra hard to out-surprise each other ;)

Can't think of a better way to have spent Valentine's 2012 = yummy food + a yummy gift + the love of my life ♥

This time, last year..

.. we were celebrating Valentines in Coron ♥

First meal at Kawayanan Grill. Food was so-so, which was a bit disappointing because it came highly recommended by food and travel blogs.

Mt Tapyas. Crazy climb to the top (700+ steps!) but it wasn't really anything we couldn't handle.

Various shots taken on our first full day of island hopping. Yes that's Cholo being mayabang and refusing to wear a life vest (because he wanted to dive down deeper).

Valentine's dinner at La Sirenetta. Service was terrible, we waited ages for our food :| Those prawns were heaven though, there are times that I wake up in the middle of the night craving for them nomnomnom.

loved, loved, loved Malcapuya Island! super duper pretty beach.

Banana Island was where we just relaxed and lazed around on the hammocks. Saraaaaaaap.

we stopped by this little island called Bulog, where we just took pictures with the huge rocks. the boatman told us that right near that island is where Two Seasons is building their Coron resort. will definitely go back when its already up and running.

The resort we stayed in had a mini-zoo! I'm not even kidding. There was a horse!!! That 'tiger' isnt real though ;)
