Manila Eats: Red Buffalo

For the past few months, I've been seeing Facebook posts advertising the restaurant of an officemate of ours. Cholo and I always make a mental note to visit and try it out, but have never really gotten around to doing so.

Fast forward to last Saturday night. We were on our usual Saturdate and the ever-present 'Where are we having dinner?' debate was ensuing. I remembered reading about how there was a new row of restos that opened up near Gilmore, so (with no definite restaurant in mind) we decided to go check it out.

HCM Eats: KFC

In keeping with our fast food tradition, our last dinner in Vietnam was at the KFC located at the top floor of Parkson Department Store.

HCM Eats: Pho 2000

While in Vietnam, we tried to sample as many local delicacies as we could. Pho was on the top of our list, being one of the most popular Vietnamese dishes.

*Click on the link to hear the correction pronunciation of 'Pho'. Always thought it was pronounced the same way as 'faux'. Turns out we've been saying it wrong all these years!

Paid a visit to Pho 2000 on our last day in Ho Chi Minh.

Hey if it's good enough for Bill, it's good enough for us :)

HCM Eats: Out and About

Spotted balancing on a Ho Chi Minh street vendor's head. Not sure exactly what this is (and we didnt get to try it), but doesnt it look so yummy??

The vendor looked so cute too, carrying that whole tray piled with pastries on his head.

I love it when we're cruising together ♩♪♫♬

Instead of the usual Ho Chi Minh tour, where they bring you to the tunnels (and the holes in the ground) where the Vietnamese used to hide out during the war, we decided to take a cruise along the Mekong Delta river (that lasted almost the whole day).

Hello Ho Chi Minh!

Last November, we traveled to a land where we were considered millionaires ;)

Manila Eats: Rub Ribs & BBQ

An intense craving for our favorite Boracay ribs place Hawaiian Bar-B-Que, had us searching for the best ribs in Manila (on Google) in the wee hours of the morning. A restaurant we had never heard of before, Rub Ribs & BBQ, came up on the search.

Manila Eats: Ristras and B&T Mexican Kitchen

It feels just like it was yesterday.

Figured I needed to take a break from all the food posts :)

Was reminded of how old we really are getting when just this weekend, some of my DWTL kids reminded me that they're graduating from college this month. How crazy is it that I met them back when they were juniors in high school and now theyre seniors in college (and will soon be yuppies)?? Time has really flown by so fast.

Its been years since our graduations and in hindsight, its been one interesting journey from college students to yuppies (slash corporate slaves? hahaha).

Manila Eats: Gasthof

Have always been curious about this particular restaurant that we would pass in D Mall in Boracay, and so we finally decided to go to the Makati branch to try it out.

Manila Eats: Cibo

Our most frequented date place would definitely be Cibo. We're practically regulars at the Eastwood, Shangri-La, Rockwell and Greenbelt 5 branches ;)

Manila Eats: Borough

Heard such good reviews about Borough (and about their grilled cheese sandwiches!), and we definitely werent disappointed.

Manila Eats: Marta's Cakes

Discovered this place back when we used to go out (go out = gimmick) on Saturday nights. Oh, our college days. A night out, for some reason, always leaves us either extremely hungry or craving for something sweet.
