Beach Grub

Some people go to Boracay to relax. Some go to drink. Most go to party.

We go to Boracay to eat :)

Since our first trip together back in 2006, we've started our own little "traditions" - basically just restaurants that we have to go to every time we go back. We also make it a point to try at least 1 new restaurant every time. Its gotten to the point that we don't even try to lose weight (and get the proverbial 'beach body') anymore before going, just because we know we'll be stuffing ourselves silly anyway during the entire trip :)

Cafe Breizh
Because crepes just taste better when youre eating them in your bathing suits ;)

Hawaiian Bar-b-que
Couldn't find a single picture of anything we've ever ordered in Hawaiian Bar-b-que.. maybe because as soon as the food gets to our table, we practically inhale everything? Haha. Thats how good their food is!!! We've had major Hawaiian Bar-b-que cravings in Manila, and the nearest branch is in Tagaytay :(

Aria
Must remember to try eating here at night. Seems like a romantic date place. Love their pasta so much!!! Heard they opened a branch in High Street, not so sure I'd like to eat there though. The whole beach-y vibe I think is what contributes to their overall appeal.

Jonah's
This is such a Boracay staple. Every trip needs a Jonah's fix. For that matter, every drunken night out needs a Jonah's fix too. *Insert memories of a certain Red-Horse-Mixed-With-Jonahs-Chocolate-Shake night gone awry tsk tsk*

Lemon Cafe
Our favorite breakfast-slash-brunch place at D Mall. Love how sunny and bright and clean everything seems when you start your day off here.

Puka Grande
I always feel bad for Cholo everytime we eat here, just because I order TONS of their garlic buttered prawns and he has to watch me dying of sarap while he just sits there, eating something else and cursing his allergies to crustaceans.

Real Coffee
Our discovery of Real Coffee was somewhat serendipitous. For the longest time we've been hearing stories about these famous calamansi muffins, but never really had an idea where they were sold (or even what the name of the cafe was). Then on one trip, we were buying mineral water at this little convenience store near the Havaianas store, and then we see the sign for Real Coffee! We realized that we finally found it. Their muffins are so good (and so is their coffee), and theyre great for pasalubongs too.

Summer Place
Who doesn't love a good Mongolian eat-all-you-can place? Who doesn't love the words 'unlimited rice'?

Two Seasons
No matter what resort we stay in, Two Seasons is where we choose to hang out the whole day. We get one of those little huts/cabanas, order drinks, and pig out there the whole day. I cant remember anything we've ordered there that didn't taste yummy.

"street food" sold by the shore
How good are chori burgers???? I have yet to meet a person who doesn't like them. I can eat like half a dozen of these and still be hungry for more hehe.

The one where we go to the zoo.

Brought our favorite 2-year old to Ark Avilon last Saturday, his first ever trip to the zoo! Gabriel's really active and likes to run around and scream (especially when he's super excited) so it was fun to see how he'd react to all the animals. Surprisingly though, he wasnt into the big animals. The tigers, orangutan and monkey, and the bear didnt interest him at all. He loved the smaller animals: the hamsters, rabbits, gerbils and all the different kinds of fish. Shouldve brought him to Ocean Park instead. Next time :)

Made me remember the spur-of-the-moment trip to Manila Zoo we went on with our friends. Was trying to recall how many years ago that was, and when I looked through my hard drive for the pictures - I realized it was back in December of 2006! 5 years ago! Crazy how its already been that long ago.

Testing :)

Welcome to our blog! After endless hours of wanderlust-ing, stalking our friends' gorgeous travel photos, poring over resort, restaurant and food reviews, and religiously checking other travel/food/personal blogs, we decided to come up with our very own.

All photos to be posted were taken with our cameras, unless noted otherwise.

Stay tuned!

♥, Tums

Every day with you is an adventure :)
