Memorable Dates: A Trip Down Memory Lane

4+ years of our relationship were spent as college students. It's fun to look back on those years and remember how simple life was, and how we had so much fun being teenagers, and how (you could say) our lives were a lot different than they are now.

Over the years we've been pretty good about documenting dates we've gone on, special occasions and formal events, and even just those weekends we spent either swimming at our village clubhouse or bumming on the couch at home. I get a kick out of looking at pictures and grimacing at our bad fashion choices, bad hair days, and even our nene and totoy looks. Mostly though, looking at our pictures tugs at my heartstrings and for most of those, I can remember exactly how I felt when they were taken.

These are just a few of the stand-out dates we went on back in college. We had to be creative, especially since we were surviving on students' allowances ;) Back then, we didn't really have the chance to travel much (Cebu Pacific seat sales didn't exist yet! Asian Spirit palang meron, not that cheap pa haha) so we had to find fun things to do in the city. They may have been simple but they were definitely some of the best dates we've ever had ♥

Rizal Shrine, Calamba
Had to go to Calamba as a requirement for my Rizal class and we made a road trip of it. The fun part was - when we got there, turns out it was closed for maintenance. Thank God for my mom who always gets her way, she managed to convince the caretakers to open it for us and so we had the whole place to ourselves for a few hours :)

Meralco
An example of how we manage to have fun just doing the simplest of things. I used to run errands for my mom and taking the car and paying the bills every so often was one of them. On one of our Meralco trips, we stopped so that I could take a picture with the street sign. The street's named after my grandfather! Cool, right.

Football at Urdaneta
HOW. FUN. WAS. THIS. DAY. Cholo used to be a football player for his school's varsity and so we spent one whole afternoon just kicking a ball around and being goofy on the playground.

Starbucks Study Dates
Aside from our favoritest Starbucks G4 branch (with our couch!), we frequented this one Starbucks branch near Glorietta 1. We loved it cause it was semi-hidden and always kind of semi-deserted. We had this one couch that would always be free and thats where we spent most of our breaks studying (oh who am i kidding, EATING). What's sad about this place is that it's no longer there, this was one of the establishments that was totally destroyed by the Glorietta bombing years ago.

Global Fun Carnival
This was that traveling carnival (that was near MOA) that we decided to go to. Fun times!!

Policarpio Street
This is the famed Christmas-crazy street in Mandaluyong. Christmas is our favorite holiday (after our birthdays) so you can imagine how excited we were to check this place out.

'Baking' at home
The things you do to entertain yourself at home ;)

Chocolate Buffet at Manila Pen
BEST. BUFFET. EVER. Everrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So glad we got to do this before they totally cancelled it. We're such chocolate-freaks so this was the most sulit buffet we've ever gone to. I even remember my favorite - the rice pudding sandwiched between a chocolate bar and fresh strawberries. Sounds weird but IT WAS SO GOOD. Enjoyed every single minute of those 4 hours we spent at the Pen Lobby. Hope they bring this back this year!!
